A Water Pipe is a filtration device generally used for smoking tobacco or other herbal substances.
A water pipe is similar to a hooka, except it is usually smaller and more portable. The most common water pipe is made of glass. Water pipes have a bowl where water is added and through which smoke is passed from the stem (where your tobacco or herb is burned) to the mouth piece. To get fresh air into the water pipe and harvest the last remaining smoke, a hole known as the "carburetor" or "carb", somewhere on the lower part of the pipe above water level, is first kept covered during the toke, then opened.
